Absolutely. It would be suited to a space whereby you can stand 3 metres away from the beehive comfortably. Bees will fly around close to the hive and out of the garden to forage.

In my first year I made 40kg of honey from 3 beehives. Depending on how well your colony flourishes you could produce enough to last you through the winter until next year. Always leave plenty for the bees to keep for winter.

Bees are generally not aggressive as they tend to be so busy working away they would rather fly off. When being in the hive they can become defensive and may try to sting. That’s why it’s important to always wear a bee suit.
