1. Booking
Workshop places must be booked in advance through the website.
A booking is confirmed once payment has been received.
Places are limited and allocated on a first-come basis.
Participants must be 18 years or older, unless agreed in advance.
Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing, boots or wellies covering the ankles ideally and long sleeve tops and trousers.
Beesuits and equipment will be provided
2. Course Description
The workshop is a 2-day practical beekeeping course designed for beginners.
The course may include:
Introduction to beekeeping
Hive components and setup
Bee behaviour
Hive inspections
Honey harvesting techniques
Basic colony management
Safe handling of bees
Course content may vary depending on:
Weather conditions
Bee activity
Seasonal factors
3. Outdoor Activity
Workshops take place outdoors and participants should:
Wear long sleeve suitable clothing
Bring appropriate footwear (ideally wellies, high ankle boots)
Prepare for changing weather conditions
Please note there is currently no mobility access to the site area.
Protective bee suits will be provided.
4. Risk and Responsibility
Beekeeping involves working with live honey bees.
By attending the workshop you acknowledge that:
Bee stings are possible
Outdoor hazards exist
Bees are unpredictable animals
Participants attend at their own risk.
Stealing From The Bees is not responsible for:
Bee stings
Allergic reactions
Minor injuries
Participants with known bee sting allergies must not attend unless medical clearance has been obtained.
If you carry an EpiPen, you must inform us before the course.
5. Safety
Participants must follow all safety instructions.
Failure to follow instructions may result in removal from the workshop without refund.
Smoking and alcohol are not permitted during the course.
6. Cancellations by Participants
If you cancel:
More than 14 days before the course
Full refund
7–14 days before
50% refund
Less than 7 days
No refund
Courses are prepared in advance hence a booking cancellation affects the group preparation. Bookings may be transferred to another person if agreed in advance or rescheduled at discretion subject to availability.
7. Rescheduling by Us
We may reschedule workshops due to:
Severe weather
Unsafe bee conditions
Illness
Unforeseen circumstances
You will be offered:
A new date
orA full refund
8. Photography and Media
Photos or videos may be taken during workshops for:
Website use
Social media
Educational content
9. Liability Limitation
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Stealing From The Bees shall not be liable for:
Injuries
Loss of property
Allergic reactions
Bee stings
Travel costs
Indirect losses
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Acceptance
By booking a workshop you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
11. Training and Competence
This workshop provides introductory beekeeping training.
Completion of the course does not qualify participants as professional beekeepers and does not guarantee competence in managing bees independently.
Participants are responsible for:
· Their own beekeeping decisions
· Hive management
· Bee welfare
· Compliance with local regulations
Stealing From The Bees accepts no responsibility for:
· Loss of colonies
· Poor hive management
· Swarming
· Neighbour disputes
· Property damage
· Injuries caused by bees after the course
Advice given during the workshop is general guidance only and may not apply to every situation.
Participants should continue learning and seek further guidance where necessary.
